Comfort Movies
We've all experienced the all-American culinary sensation that is comfort food: food that makes you feel better when your down or what have you. Such foods could be mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, pizza just to name a few.But I use a comfortable device much more often and it doesn't involve the consumption of carbs: comfort movies! That's right, some movies are just so good that they lift my spirits just like some mashed potatoes and hot gravy. If I'm in a bad mood, or I don't feel good, I just pop in that certain movie and all is well.
Breakfast at Tiffany's lightheartedness mixed with the angsty love story of Holly and Paul is the perfect combo for a mood-lifter. Another comfort film of mine is The Devil Wears Prada, or a classic thriller or romantic comedy.
But I guess I did lie a little, this movie watching is usually associated with food consumption. I mean the popcorn, the junkfood, whatever it is, it makes the movie more enjoyable, more worthwile and it is just a part of the 'comfort' factor.
What are your comfort movies, or what are some of the things you do to lift your spirits?
