Curiouser and curiouser.

I attended a mixed group day at Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana. I decided to go there because my sister graduated there not too long ago and I feel a special connection to the town and the school.
Upon passing through the doors of Merillat Centre for the Arts, the tour guide called my parents and me by name. She was a friend of my sister's. She handed me my packet and my parents and I decided that I would do a mixed day of the communications track and the visual arts track. First was the introduction to the communications tour and more familiar faces arose.
As the tour began, Danielle showed me and two girls around the wintry albeit beautiful Huntington campus and into the various buildings. Our tour group was small and just by looking at them, I could tell which girl was interested in what.
The first girl was tan and blonde. Her eyes were bright and and she had a raspy voice. I could tell by her personality and her clothing (she was clad in a turquoise turtle neck and various enameled necklaces) that she would someday be telling me the latest news via tele-prompt.
The other girl was taller, skinnier and had long, straight brown hair. She was dressed like a journalist. I could picture her, voice recorder in hand, roaming the streets of Washington D.C. or in the slums of Dubai digging out the best story.
Later in the day I attended a sort of q&a with the art department and attended a studio class, that was fun.
The best part of my day, however, came when I sat in on a journalism class. Okay, it was actually called "Introduction to News Writing" but it was vastly intriguing. It began with one student sitting on the front of the classroom, pitching an idea for a newspaper story via laptop and projector. The class helped and the professor kindly, masterfully scrutinized. The professor was top-notch, a true believer in students and journalism.
The whole time I was enthralled by the pace and comedy of the class. As they edited sentences, and listened to NPR and talked about reporting, I couldn't get enough.
I left Huntington University, sporting my official HU zip-up hoodie, with a better sense of what I wanted to do in college. Will HU be the college I go to? Who knows, but I definitely broke ground and intend to keep on digging.
Sincerely,
The Wallflower
P.S.
Seeing Alice in Wonderland tonight. Get excited! Also, what's with that book and drugs? Look at my attached picture. That's right, that's a caterpiller sitting on a 'shroom smoking a BONG. We many never know.
